Collegian Quietly Changes its Infamous “Bitterness” Article, Here’s a Comparison

Presumably responding to a chorus of outrage from its detractors as well as its supporters, BJU has changed a now-infamous article from this week’s Collegian which repeatedly called critics “bitter.” The new version now only allows for the possibility that anyone who disagrees with the school’s handling of the GRACE investigation is deficient spiritually, as well as incorrect.

The revised version claims that the original version “inadvertently implied that every person who posted dissenting opinions on Facebook was bitter” but that “that was not the intention of this piece.”

Below is a .pdf of the changes. You can find more documents like this on our Scribd page.

Those folks at BJU just can’t walk around a steaming pile. They have to step in it, then back up to see what they stepped in.

I am assuming that the pdf file is on scribd, like some previous documents. Would it be possible for these documents to be uploaded somewhere else? The government of my country blocks access to scribd…and the Chinese government may as well. And I wouldn’t want any of those prospective Chinese students to miss out on anything 🙂

Great suggestion! Thanks for the input, I wasn’t aware that China blocks that site. I will provide some direct links for you and come up with an alternate repository later today.

I suggest we might watch just how much luggage our BJU administrative friends take with them to China. Such an observation might indicate whether or not they’re going to come back!

    Jus’ sayin’.

When the Champions of Separation cry, “Biting words divide the body of Christ and harm our Gospel testimony’s. Facebook comments on BJU’s posts showed Christian brothers and sisters who were arguing….”

You can guarantee it is simply an attempt to censor and silence those disagreeing with BJU using the good old standby– “Shhh… you’ll harm the body of Christ.”
